The Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (Living Heritage Company, or EPV) label is a mark of recognition of the French Ministry of the Economy, Industry and Employment, put in place to reward French firms for the excellence of their traditional and industrial skills.

The Dictionnaire de l’Artisanat et des Métiers, produced by the ISM in conjunction with the different craft organisations and published by Editions du Cherche-Midi, is now on sale at bookshops.

Company visits: Atout France guide brought out in partnership with the EPV label

Around one in three EPV-labelled companies are open to the public. Alongside other partners, the ISM, through the EPV label, served on the steering committee for a new guide, published by the French Trade Commission – Atout France, entitled “La visite d’entreprises : Ouvrir ses portes au public pour mieux valoriser son entreprise” (‘Company visits: how to promote your company by opening to the public’).

Red rug rolled out for Manufacture d’Aubusson Robert Four

No ordinary project for no ordinary atelier: that is how one might describe the challenge taken up by the craftsmen of Manufacture d’Aubusson Robert Four. Three giant rugs commissioned by a Russian buyer – an art enthusiast appreciative of French heritage – took over a year to be entirely handmade. Covering a total surface area of 417 square metres, the three works were inspired by designs made in an Empire style by Jacques-Louis de La Hamayde de Saint-Ange during the first half of the 19th century.
