Located in a old lace factory dating from 1918-1920, the company comprises two of the oldest manufacturers in the region : Peeters et Perrin, which has been specialising in braid for lingerie and corsets since 1920, and Albert Aubert, which has been specialising in Valencian lace since 1870. Although mechanical looms are used, making Calais lace also requires constant work by hand. Thus the whapper, the wheeler, the tinter, the bobbinet operator and the inspection machine operator all play a part in the production of a lace that is fine, supple and strong. Codentel works for lingerie and corsetry companies, among them Chantelle, Aubade, Erès, Huit and Princesse Tam-Tam in France; and abroad, La Perla, Triumph, Paladini, and Pleasure State. It also works for haute-couture and luxury ready-to-wear houses.
